Vũ

Vũ means “to dance” in Vietnamese. It was my father's original surname, however during the upheaval of the Vietnam War, it evolved to Nguyễn, which mean's "stringed instrument" — and this became our family name. I have been known as Anna Nguyễn, but since getting married, I am now go by Anna Vũ Thompson.
